PLANETAI is a federated AI causal-inference instrument for distributed production at bioregional scale. Four pilots — Barcelona, Boston, Santiago, Bali — coupled to Earth foundation models, community sensor networks, and the global fab-lab infrastructure.
This site is the coordination layer for the program: what we have built, the decisions that shaped it, and the work-tracks open for partner contribution.
What changed
- 2026-05-04 Decision Hyperlocal dashboard IA Stage 1 — five locked architectural decisions
- 2026-05-04 Decision Bali pilot org structure clarified — MDG = Fab Lab Bali; IT Del has Bali office
- 2026-05-01 Decision Hub architecture — hubs are not measurement targets, the district is
- 2026-05-01 Decision Tri Hita Karana mapping is Bali co-design only; publication conditional on customary-authority sign-off
- 2026-04-28 Decision Bali pilot grounded in three coherent sources; Tri Hita Karana mapping as methodological contribution
- 2026-04-28 Decision PITO/DIDO is the narrative compression layer over the four-pillar matrix, not a replacement
- 2026-04-27 Decision Five scales: Domestic dropped, Region added
Work in progress
Things being built right now — partners can view live previews and leave feedback before anything is final. The WIP surface lists every active prototype with status, what kind of feedback is useful at this stage, and what is intentionally not ready yet.
- Serangan Hyperlocal Dashboard — stage-2 mockup · matryoshka hyperlocal dashboard for Banjar Serangan, Bali. First instantiation of the 4 May architectural decisions.
Where to plug in · seven open tracks
The forward surface of PLANETAI. Each track has concrete entry points a partner can land in one hour, one day, or one week — the tracks page will surface those. Today these are scaffolds; partner-collaborative fill-out begins this week.
Canonical artifacts

Contribute
Most coordination work happens by editing files in this repo. Four paths in, depending on what you want to do:
- Validate or revise a pilot — every pilot page (start with pilots) is a partner-validation surface. Each section can be validated, contributed to, reviewed, or revised — open the form or use the action links beside any section.
- Propose a decision — open a structured form that becomes a GitHub issue. No YAML knowledge required.
- Ack or push back on a review — open the response form. Same shape, scoped to review windows.
- Edit a YAML or markdown directly — on every page, the Edit on GitHub link opens the source file in GitHub's web editor. Save = pull request. No terminal involved.
- Email or Slack Tomas / Lucas — if none of the above fit. We'll log the YAML for you. Honest fallback.
A free GitHub account is required for the first three. Setup takes sixty seconds at github.com/signup.
